WHAT HAPPENED?
The French forward had captained his side throughout the best part of an hour on Sunday night, in what soon became a hotly-contested clash between two fierce Ligue 1 rivals. But as has been the custom in recent weeks, Mbappe didn't last the full 90 and was taken off by Luis Enrique on 64 minutes. The 25-year-old looked visibly annoyed at the decision as he trudged off in the rain at the Orange Velodrome.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Not only did Luis Enrique elect to bring off his captain again, but he did so during a crucial part of the game. Having been reduced to 10 men after Lucas Beraldo's harsh sending off in the first period, PSG were protecting a 1-0 lead thanks to Vitinha's second-half strike. They also survived an equaliser scare from Marseille when VAR intervened to rule out that goal. But despite entering into the latter stages of a huge game, Luis Enrique clearly felt that Mbappe was surplus to requirements.
Goncalo Ramos' goal four minutes from time showed the coach's decision was justified, though, given that he was brought on as Mbappe's replacement.

WHAT LUIS ENRIQUE SAID
The PSG boss expressed his boredom at having to explain his decision again after full time, telling "It’s the same music every single week, the same music… it’s so boring. I am the manager, I make the decisions every day, every week. I am going to do the same until my last day in Paris. I always try to find the best solution for my team. Even if you don’t [understand the decision], I don’t care. I don’t care at all [smiles]."
